James Leonard Wilcox is a researcher of the paranormal and self-proclaimed demonologist. He and his partner, Franklin Denver, work mainly with children who have been possessed or haunted in some way. They are both quite successful in their work and have been offered their own TV show as a platform to share their experiences publicly. But a paranormal entity called Edwa begins to make their lives very difficult. Edwa has possessed a boy, Miles Slater, who withers over almost two years and eventually dies. The entity cannot be classified into any known paranormal category, such as demons or ghosts. James’s dealings with Miles and Edwa lead to events far worse than the average haunting.
